Description: Dial-a-dog provides dog therapy, social visits, transportation, and helps get clients to medical / personal appointments.

Our handlers have criminal record checks, first aid and watch tutorials on understanding mental health, dementia and elder abuse. Our dogs are evaluated for their good natured behavior, friendly temperament, public calmness and obedience training. Our evaluator also specializes in certifying autism and PTSD support dogs.

Founder Heather Fowler draws upon 30 years combined experience providing dog therapy, senior companionship and recreational programming for the elderly sector.

Description: ElderDog Canada is a national, community-based, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting aging individuals and their canine companions. We are 100% volunteer based and support is free of charge to seniors in need of our services. 

Our services include: 

• Dog Care Support for Seniors: Assisting older adults with tasks such as dog walking, transportation to veterinary appointments, dog food delivery, and basic grooming to help them continue caring for their dogs at home. ​

• Rehoming Older Dogs: Finding new, loving homes for senior dogs who have lost their caregivers due to illness, relocation, or death. ​

• Long-Term & Perpetuity Care: Providing ongoing care plans for dogs to ensure their well-being in the event their human companions can no longer care for them

• Guidelines & Policies: Dogs must remain on leash at al times. Only one dog is walked at a time, no group walks are offered. Volunteers cannot work with aggressive dogs, and dogs must be well behaved on a leash.
